The Moors and Olmecs were not Blacks. In Spain, the word Moreno means tan skinned. Moreno comes from the word Moro, which is Spanish for Moor. The Moors looked like modern day Moroccans. Most either came because of government positions, or the promise of a new life to those willing to leave their countries. It was an attempt to populate the colonies. Also, Black Americans, by large, have no cultural or genetic ties to the Black mercenaries that were hired by the Moors. There are paintings on display at the Alhambra Museum in Granada, Spain of the Moors, painted by the Moors themselves. They have features of Berbers and are tan not Black. Continued>>>
